I would like to request prayers, for endurance in my poor health. I have kidney failure, since 1987, and recently have Pulmonary hypertension and am on oxygen 24/7. I suffer from a heart arrythymia.

I also would like a miracle in my family. My brother has not spoken to me in 8 years and I cannot locate my other brother. They are my only family and it is hard not having family especially during the holiday season,

Would you please pray my friend, Renda D., for "Strength On The Journey" for my best friend who has been like a sister to me for more than 30 years. She is 47 years old and has a 3 and 6 year old girls and she is dying of ALS - Lou Gehrig's disease. She has lost all mobility in her limbs and cannot speak. She is on a ventilator and a trachea and completely confined to bed in a dreary nursing home. She is so scared of dying and is not using her faith to trust in God. Please pray for her husband and daughters as well. Her husband is completely overwhelmed with grief. They were a very loving couple and best friends.

I ask for prayers for my mentally challenged adult brother and myself please. I have been caring for my brother full time since our mom passed away almost two years ago. He lived with her his entire life and is having a very difficult time without her. He has a simple child like but absolute faith in our Lord and has taught me much about trust and unconditional love. Yet I am trying to take control over that which I have no control. I have won a battle with cancer, but am suffering from several health issues and I am finding it difficult to trust in our Lord's plan for us. I would like for prayers for my 27 year old son. He is in a Detox center for heroin use. 4 years ago he had a major back surgery and had been taking oxycontin. 2 years ago his girlfriend died. He has been in such pain and turned to heroin. He is asking for help, but has lost his way from the Lord. Thank you for praying for him.

Yes, we ask God to remember the babies who were aborted AND we at Holy Family Apostolate always remember that an actual or potential family is profoundly devastated by the death of a single child. This is why you will always hear us include those left behind when a child is aborted. The mother, the father, siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins... Many families are not yet aware they are grieving the loss of one or more children to abortion.

God hold those babies and heal the parents and relatives who mourn whether they know it or not.

Prayers for Julie Carrick!

This is the first post on our blog where anyone can post their prayer requests. This new blog will be accessible through the holyfamilynow.com homepage.

This e-mail came yesterday from Julie and Kurt Carrick:
Dear Family, Friends and Ministry Supporters!

We are writing to ask for prayer and to inform you all about a recent diagnosis in Julie's health. Because we really do ask for your prayers and we will have to adjust our Lenten concert schedule, we are writing to let you all know that Julie will be undergoing surgery to remove a tumor from her right lung. The information we have at this time is this. During a routine annual physical, a chest x-ray was done that showed an abnormality. Julie's doctor requested a CT scan be done to determine what the abnormality is and from that CT scan it has been determined that it is a tumor that appears to be most likely a form of cancer. Currently we are waiting a response from a small team of doctors who are reviewing the results to determine the best course of action for surgery and then appropriate follow-up care. These doctors are in the respective fields of Radiology, Pulmonology, Oncology and of course Surgery.
We are really very blessed in that this has been found very early in its development even before there were any symptoms. We truly feel that this is the best miracle already! Being busy traveling and being in full time ministry, we tend to put off the routine things once in a while, but Kurt was right on the mark as he scheduled our physicals and chose a new family practice for us (since our regular doctor has moved to Georgia about 2 years ago). We know that in all things our dear Lord Jesus is taking care of us and we put our trust in Him. We know he will guide us, our doctors and use this experience for His purpose so we simply ask that you offer a prayer for us in all of this. We are human after all, and of course we have our moments when we think about the questions in all of this, but through your prayers and in God's goodness all will be well.
As soon as we have the surgery date we will update this message and we will have a little update posted on our website
(www.carrickministries.com) as we go along the next few weeks. We will offer this up for your intentions as well so as you pray for us, we will be praying for all of your needs too. We are asking our dear Mother Mary, *St Therese, St **Philomena, *St John Neumann and ***Fr Solanus to be our special intercessors during this time just so you know who'll be praying along with us. So let's keep the faith and look forward to what God has planned in all of this and of course that soon Julie will be back singing her lungs out for Christ!
